It is true that we sometimes get irritated with our lives. It is also true that some of us feel chained to our disappointments and frustrations, bound by our fears and imprisoned by choices we have made. Let's face it - many of us are seeking to gain freedom - and we want it NOW!
For many women, life is hectic and filled with more complications and responsibilities than we signed up for. The pressures of life are very real in 2014 and definitely no respecter of persons. We have all desired (at one time or another) to experience one of those beautiful beachside, "Calgon Take Me Away," moments. (I realize I am telling my age here...LOL!)
Have you ever been guilty of screaming, “I need a break!” or “I need vacation”? If the answer is yes, you are not alone. I know that I have longed to gain some freedom, many times!
If we are honest, we even convince ourselves that we need a retreat from it ALL, including the people that we love the most. We fall prey to the “grass is greener on the other” side syndrome. We can be easily convinced that all we need right now is a mini-adventure to bring us back to life.
Oh, to be truly alive! What great joy it would bring to be free from all of the cares of life.
- Free to think
- Free to breathe
- Free to believe that we can be anything we choose to be
- Free to live in a ‘no judgment zone’
- Free from other people's opinions
- Free from monetary limitations and restraints
- Free to become everything God ever intended us to be
- Free to know our true identity
- Free to love the real me, no matter who she really is
Have you ever asked yourself, “Why can't I have that kind of freedom…now?” Why do you think that you must go away to experience true joy? Why does the freedom to enjoy life always seem to be in another place, possible only at another time? If you’ve ever wondered how to gain freedom NOW – right where you are – and keep it…well, I have some amazing news.
- Freedom is available to you, right now, right where you are.
- You don’t have to pack your luggage
- You don’t have to pay any fees that would send you over an already extended budget.
- A simple “Yes” is all that is needed.
- No clever gimmick
- No sales pitch
- No tricks!
It really is as simple as saying yes. Vacations, breaks, and mini-adventures are all wonderful - but there is a catch. They are all temporary.
Freedom is yours for the taking – and keeping - today! The question I have for you is also simple. How badly do you really want it?
One area in which I had to gain freedom was my thought life. Instead of being so fixated on how I would enjoy life if I could just be somewhere else on some other day, I make a conscious decision to enjoy the moment I am in. I must choose to find something enjoyable about each and every one of my moments. I gain freedom NOW, right where I am, instead of constantly seeking an escape route and I am learning to appreciate even the smallest of victories and accomplishments.
No, I’m not where I want to be, but don’t limit me! I’m so grateful to God that I’m no longer stuck in the past and no longer awaiting freedom to come to me – I choose to be free NOW!
For me, another realistic step (instead of jumping on an opportunity to gripe or complain) is choosing to speak in a positive manner. Choosing to see the positive in a situation is one sure way to gain freedom from disappointment and frustration. And, yes, it is definitely a day-by-day process, but I have decided that I will celebrate my improvements and learn from any setbacks.
Question: What is one thing you can personally do – today – to gain freedom NOW in your life and live in that freedom every single day? Feel free to comment.
