Do you Feel Like Giving Up?!?!?

By Tasha M. Scott

Are you in a battle right now in your life where you feel like there is no way out?

Do you feel like your back is against the wall and the only hope for your rescue is God, Himself?

You have either said or thought that if God doesn’t come through for you, you will actually die or be destroyed in this season of your life?

My friend, may I encourage you today?

Someone shared this with me yesterday and I pay it forward to you:  Believe it or not, you and I are actually in the BEST position possible when God is our ONLY option.

Because it’s at this place that God can perform His greatest work through our Surrendered Hearts.

We GET to turn to Him. There is no Plan B, C, or D. All roads lead to Him and only Him. All the results are dependent on Him!!

Knowing that, our faith can increase as we watch Him come through…like He always has before?

Don’t be fooled though...Our feelings can betray us during this time because it feels awful. But - don’t fall for the feelings trap - God’s track record (in our lives and in others) has proven Him faithful...again and again.

In my own life - the challenges of filing bankruptcy, marital problems, foreclosure and more - have all mocked me, saying:

“Who do you think you are?”

“You mean you want to do what?”

“Encourage other women to grow?!?!”

“Have you forgotten your own struggles?!?!"

With each onslaught of shameful defeat, I stand on God’s promises from His word. I have seen (and am still witnessing) God come through for me every single time in the face of perceived defeat. I admit - I have flirted with giving up many times; but no matter how close to the edge I got, He ALWAYS assured me of His grace, mercy and unconditional love. He assures me daily of His plans and purposes for my life. I pray for your re-assurance as well.

God’s promise tells us, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Does this resonate with you?

Sometimes the journey gets lonely, scary and down-right frustrating. We doubt, we second-guess…BUT time and time again, God always comes through.

Have you also noticed that we grow stronger and wiser in the midst of our struggles and setbacks? We are changed from the inside out!

Today, I want to remind you that your current situation is not too far beyond God’s grace, mercy, redemption and restoration.

The question is not why are you going through your season of adversity; the question is who will you become because of the challenging adversity!!

Be encouraged, my friend!

You may feel like your back is against the wall.

You may feel like you’ll never come out from under than financial pressure, your marital strain, physical ailments, or mental attacks.

Whatever your present challenge, rest in His promises. Put your hope in God, not the outcome!

I pray that during this time your faith will be increased as your hunger for Him increases. I believe that God will use, even this, for good! It may not feel good now, but it WILL be good.

Hold on!!

You ain’t seen nothing yet!!!

In the meantime, here’s some tips to ease your journey to help increase your faith during this season:

  • READ: Bible and Bible-based books
  • LISTEN: Bible-based messages
  • DECLARE: God’s word over your situation
  • DO: Act on the word; Actively praise, worship and pray continually

Here is my favorite promise that I am currently standing on in my own life:

Ezekiel 36:36 (NIV)

36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I - the Lord - have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I - the Lord - have spoken, and I will do it.’

God wants to rebuild and replant some things in my life and in your life as well!

Question: What is the promise that you are currently standing on during this season?
